Another one would be what are the similarities between Heller's Catch and Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse?

To answer that one, I would have to say that the similarities lie in the human response for order and purpose in a chaotic and unpredictable setting, primarily a war. In Yossarian's case he was controlled by his higher ups and in Billy Pilgrims he was a prisoner of war. Billy did become an escapist and died that way at the end of the book, or half way, while Yossarian changes when he hears about Orr’s escapade to Sweden and addresses his problems.
